NEW JERSEY -- Two middle school students from New Jersey won second place at the 2012 National School Scrabble Championship (NSSC) held in Orlando, Florida, April 13-14, at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort. The pair, Filipino American 8th grader Nicholas Vasquez and 6th grader Thomas Draper, of Millburn, NJ -- known as the Da Talisman Honchos -- came behind Andy Hoang and Erik Salgado, both 8th graders from Cary, North Carolina.

Last year's World Rally Championship runner-up, Mikko Hirvonen, was the class of the field on the 2010 Monte Carlo Rally, winning the event in a new Ford Fiesta S2000 after leading from start to finish on its competitive debut.
XIAMEN (May 8) -- To celebrate International Labor Day holiday, the Filipino Association in Xiamen (FAX) organized a SportsFest with the theme "Summer Fun 2009". About 150 members of the Filipino community living and working in the neighboring cities of Quanzho and Jinjang attended the event on May 1 held at the Xiamen Gang Wu Culture and Sports Center.
