The Filipino American computer chip innovator was speaking in terms of the dreams of Philippine national hero Jose Rizal and the early American Occupiers of the Philippines, not in leading his adopted country, which has been ruled mostly by lawyers from Manuel L. Quezon up to Ferdinand E. Marcos.

As part of its Commercial Crew Development (CCDev2) initiative -- a program designed to spur the development of U.S. commercial spaceflight. The money will be used to advance commercial space flight, including work on launch vehicles and spacecrafts. The funds are the second round of NASA's Commercial Crew Development (CCDev2) program, which started in 2009 and is intended to "accelerate the availability of U.S. commercial crew transportation capabilities and reduce the gap in American human spaceflight capability."

MANILA -- International crime syndicates are increasingly using social networking sites such as Facebook to lure Filipinos into becoming drug mules, Philippine authorities have warned.
Recently caught drug traffickers have reported making initial contact with their foreign employers through a range of Internet forums, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency spokesman Derrick Arnold Carreon said.
AT&T losing iPhone Exclusivity

AT&T may lose its exclusive rights to the iPhone on Jan. 27, according to one a published report. Whether it happens this week or later this year, though, AT&T will have five new Android phones, including Dell’s Mini 3, to fall back on.
According to Hot Hardware, which cites an “inside source,” the latter is seeming likely — though news of which additional carrier or carriers will gain access to the iPhone is still unknown.

New York -- Today is the World IPv6 day the day when hundreds of internet giants, including Facebook, Google, Akamai, Yahoo and Limelight Networks are amongst some of the major organisations participating in the first worldwide "test flight" of a major engineering upgrade to the Internet's infrastructure. The goal of the Test Flight Day is to motivate organizations across the industry – Internet service providers, hardware makers, operating system vendors and web companies – to prepare their services for IPv6 to ensure a successful transition as IPv4 addresses run out.
Sony to Launch New PSP at E3

1Up.com reported that Sony is preparing to unveil its latest PlayStation Portable (PSP) at the popular E3 Video Game Expo in June which will be held in Los Angeles California. Plan to launch it in Japan in September, followed by a U.S. launch in October or November.
While the potential name for the new unit hasn't been confirmed, there are indications that it might be called PSP Go. The name is probably derived from the company's recent usage of Go! in the European PSP peripherals such as Go!View and Go!Cam.

After months of waiting, President Obama will soon get his souped-up, super high-secure BlackBerry.
The Washington Times newspaper reported Thursday that the presidential BlackBerry 8830 is "in the final stages of development by the National Security Agency." The agency is still testing the encryption software to ensure it's up to snuff. And the president could have his new device in a matter of months.
EU fines Intel a whopping $1.45 billion for antitrust case

Santa Clara, California-based Intel, the world's leading vendor of computer processors, has been found guilty of illegal practices by the European Commission, which has imposed a record 1.06 billion-euro ($1.45 billion) fine on the chipmaker. The commission also ordered Intel to cease any illegal rebates and other practices that were meant to eliminate AMD as a potential market competitor. The ruling, which has been expected since earlier this week, comes as an important step in a case that has been going on since 2001, when the EU Commission started investigating into the chip maker's business practices, following a complaint from AMD.
