iPhone 3.0 to offer 100 new features

Apple Inc. previewed the next generation of its iPhone software. Apple showed only a handful of the “100 new features” in iPhone 3.0 more will be announce when the company launches the update this summer.

IPhone 3.0 will be a free update to iPhone owners, but it will cost iPod Touch users $9.95, the same price that Apple used when it rolled out iPhone 2.0 last year.

 

  • MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service)
  • Cut/Copy/Paste
  • Turn-by-Turn Directions
  • Spotlight (Device Wide Search function)
  • Landscape mode in every iphone app
  • Full Bluetooth support

In addition, Apple has beefed up its server-side infrastructure to support a new push notification that mimics background processing.
