Bump it!NEW YORK -- The Soho International Film Festival NYC 2010 will be showcasing 30 films from around the world including three Filipino films at the Heart of the Soho NYC on 394 Broadway in downtown Manhattan. Scheduled to be shown during its Filipino Film Night on February 20, starting at 2 pm are:
At its opening night on February 18, a Marketing Seminar "How To Toot Your Own Horn" will be conducted by Michelle Cezernin von Chudenitz of the PR Firm Popular Press Media Group and Rolfe Kanefsky, filmmaker. Following the seminar is a Spotlight on World Shorts featuring nine films from the US, Canada, the Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, Spain and Sweden ranging from four to 17 minutes and a 100-minute film, "Just Like Joe". On its second day, the Festival will feature Centerpiece Spotlight on World Documentaries from the US, Turkey, Burma and Indonesia beginning at 2 p.m. Seminars conducted by speakers from the New York City Film Commission and from Hollywood will be held beginning at 11:30 a.m. The third day is the Filipino Film Night. During the closing ceremony on Sunday, the much-awaited Throws of Passion, a comedic mockumentary-style film shot in the vein "The Office" will be shown among many others. The movie is directed by Todd M. Jones. Organizers are offering free goody bags and a chance to meet the Filipino actors and filmmakers during the Q&A's. A red carpet event and a Special After Party (by G Productions) will highlight the event. Tickets are sold at $15 per movie or $50 for a Day Pass for the whole day which includes 4 Movies and the After Party Cover Charge.
