Pacquiao PunchSAN DIEGO (Apr. 30) -  The enterprising Filipino baker who re-created the whole concept of pan de sal (Philippine national bread) and named it after US President Obama is doing it again.
 
This time, Wilma Fernandez Ventura has concocted a fruit beverage she calls Pacquiao Punch to honor Filipino boxing giant Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao.

TOKYO (Apr. 15) -- In an event organized with the Department of Tourism (DOT), the Philippine Embassy opened the Philippine Food Festival 2009 at the Hilton Tokyo in Shinjuku on April 13.

The 10-day event, which started with a sit-down buffet dinner featuring the culinary talents of Chef Myrna Segismundo, was attended by Filipino and Japanese VIPs.

Underage alcohol sales examined Derbyshire police have been checking which shops and bars have sold alcohol to people under 18.

With the help of underage volunteers, officers visited 74 premises in Derby and South Derbyshire on 14 June.

Of the bars and pubs they visited, 25% sold alcohol to the teenagers, while 47% of the off-licences sold it to underage customers.
