As we get ready to turn the page to 2024, today is an excellent time to review the past year and remember the faithfulness of God, blessings, and answered prayers!
But it is also a time to review and see areas where we need to surrender to the Lord, repent, and recommit our lives entirely to Jesus as we enter 2024. What are some areas that we need to develop in our spiritual lives?
We read in 2 Timothy 2:19 – “But God’s truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription “The Lord knows those who are His,” and “All who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil.”
In our culture today – what is truth? Is there anything that is the truth? We feel we can all have our truth, but that is not true. God’s truth is eternal! God’s truth does not change because of the culture or the society that we live in. “Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life.” God’s Truth must become our Truth!
Paul encourages Timothy to know the Truth, to live the Truth, and to Preach God’s Truth!
What is God’s Truth as we go into 2024? Paul lists two things:
- “The Lord knows those who are His.” The Lord knows the Truth about us! The Lord knows if we are a follower of His. The Lord knows our hearts! The Lord knows if we are living in Truth or living a lie. The Lord knows if our hearts, motives, the private places of our lives, and if we really belong to Him! If we are followers of Jesus, we first need to repent and recommit our lives totally to Jesus as we go into 2024.
- “All who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil.” Are we living with unconfessed and unrepentant sin in our lives? Today, are there areas in your life that are sinful, wicked, or evil according to God’s Truth? Are there areas in your life that are not pleasing to God? Today, begin to review your life and see if there are areas of sin, bondage, compromise, and complacency that are keeping you from being all in and following Jesus!

In 2024, this is the year to Journey Forward with Jesus! I pray that we will spend some time examining our own lives and see if there are changes that God is looking for personally!
