Allow Jesus to bring calm in the midst of the storm that you are facing right now!

To know Jesus and to follow Jesus is different! We may know about Jesus, know the stories in the Bible, and even love Jesus in our natural understanding. But Jesus wants us to follow Him as the God of the Supernatural and not just the natural!

We read the stories of Jesus in the Bible as natural history, when we need to know the Jesus of the Supernatural. One of those stories is in Mark: 6 45-56, when Jesus walks on the water during a storm.

Jesus tells the disciples to cross the lake and go to the other side. Remember, these are experienced fishermen and know the water. They get into the boat and head to the other side, while Jesus goes alone to pray. During the night, a storm arose, and the disciples were in serious trouble, rowing hard and struggling against the wind and waves. Jesus was walking on the water in the storm. They thought it was a ghost and were terrified.

Put yourself in that story, and how would you respond? Jesus tells us to do something, and then we find ourselves in a brutal storm, trial, or problem in life. The disciples are doing what you do in a storm, but it is in the natural. But they are struggling, they are not getting anywhere, and things are not changing.

Jesus, in the supernatural, walks out to them on the water. They are afraid because they think that it is a ghost. How many of us are afraid, fearful, or even doubt that Jesus is still the supernatural One!

Jesus speaks to them and says in Mark 6:50: “Don’t be afraid,” He said. “Take courage, I am here!” Today, that is a word for us, in our storm, problem, trial that we can take courage, because Jesus, the Supernatural One, can override the natural conditions of life!

I am thankful, “Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.”

Allow Jesus to bring calm in the midst of the storm that you are facing right now!
