In David’s song of praise in 2 Samuel 22, he sings about God’s faithfulness and how God saved him from enemies, himself, and his sin. We should be thankful for the God who saves us from sin, self, and Satan.
In verses 5-7, “The waves of death overwhelmed me; floods of destruction swept over me. The grave wrapped its ropes around me; death laid a trap in my path. BUT IN MY DISTRESS, I CRIED OUT TO THE LORD; YES, I CRIED TO MY GOD FOR HELP. He heard me from His sanctuary; my cry reached His ears.”
When we are in distress, stress, fear, anxiety, failure, or sin, we can cry out to the Lord! No matter what you face today, we have a God we can call out to in life. I do not need to hold everything in, but I can release all my stuff to the Lord. I can call for help right now, and the Lord hears me.
The Lord hears our cries for help, and God helps us! Why would we not call out for help when we cannot help ourselves? We are looking for people, family, government, and church for help!
“But God is my refuge and strength a very present help in trouble.” Lord, today I call out to YOU for my help!
