CA confirms nominees for Ambassadors and Chiefs of Mission

MANILA (May 21) — The Commission on Appointments has confirmed the several Ambassadors and Chiefs of Mission nominated by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

The Commission on Appointments approved the following nominations from the Department of Foreign Affairs:

Danilo T. Ibayan Chief of Mission; Lourdes O. Yparraguirre, Chief of Mission Class II;J ose Eduardo E. Malaya III, Chief of Mission Class II; Antonio M. Lagdameo, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland; Ma. Angelina M. Sta. Catalina, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Finland; Ma. Corazon Yap-Bahjin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Bahrain; Mercedes Arrastia Tuason, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Holy See with concurrent jurisdiction over the Sovereign Military Order of Malta; Ma. Aniceta Aileen H. Bugarin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste; Alejandro D. Del Rosario, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Poland; Cardozo M. Luna, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of the Netherlands; and Leslie J. Baja, Chief of Mission Class II.

Also confirmed was Evan P. Garcia as Chief of Mission Class I and as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Federative Republic of Brazil.
