In Acts 6, we see the journey of a man named Stephen. Stephen was one of the men selected to serve bread and minister to the needs of the people.
What do we know about this man Stephen? In Acts 6:5, we read that “Stephen (a man full of Faith and the Holy Spirit.). If we are going to take this journey of following Jesus, then we need these same characteristics in our lives. We must be full of Faith (not fear) and filled with the Holy Spirit. That is the secret to walking with Jesus.
In verses 8-15, we see the journey of Stephen. We read in verse 8 – “Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed amazing miracles and signs among the people.” Stephen was available, and God mightily used him to minister to others.
We see that the religious people were upset with Stephen and got people to lie about him. We see Stephen, a godly man, arrested because of following Jesus.
So Stephen is standing before the Council, which would determine the outcome of this trial. But we see that even the Council saw something different about Stephen because we read in verse 15: “At this point everyone in the high council stared at Stephen, because his face became as bright as an angel’s.”
I need to look at my spiritual journey and ask myself, am I full of Faith? Full of the Holy Spirit? And I full of Grace? Full of Power? Full of Wisdom? And can Jesus be seen in my life?
Lord, I need more of You in my life today! Help me to grow in You and grow in living You out in my daily life!
