Part V of the “Biden’s Cancer Moonshot” Book Project

King Charles III was diagnosed last February 4, 2024, with cancer while he was undergoing treatment for an enlarged prostate the previous month. Buckingham Palace said His Majesty would step back from his public duties during his treatments, but it has not said how long they will take.

This column came out with a timely article on January 28, 2024, titled It Is Time to Help More the Biden’s “Cancer Moonshot.” Interested readers may browse it again at this link.

The January 28 article has these first paragraphs: QUOTE. This journalist has mentioned many times the “Cancer Moonshot” that then-Vice President Joe Biden launched during the Obama Administration.

The President and First Lady reignited on February 2, 2022, the “Biden Cancer Moonshot” to mobilize a national effort to end cancer as people know it.

Five days later, this column came out on February 7, 2022, with Joe Biden Can Go Bolder and Do the ‘Medical Moonshots.

Then, on February 13, 2022, this writer wrote: More Back-to-Basics Data about Manila’s U.S. ‘MedCenter’ in the 1900s.” UNQUOTE.

“Then maybe President Biden and King Charles III can engage further in geopolitics. Can they jointly appeal to the Russian Federation and Ukraine to declare a ceasefire in their conflict? A similar appeal can also be sent to Israel and Palestine to declare a truce.

Perhaps President Biden may be able to inquire from King Charles III if the Royal Family would like to make the “Cancer Moonshot” not only an American project but also an undertaking of the British Commonwealth. The monarch of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is also the titular head of the British Commonwealth.

The British Commonwealth comprises 56 member countries across all inhabited continents. The members have a combined population of 2.4 billion, almost a third of the world’s population. The combined number of inhabitants is enormous, as 1.6 billion live in India and Pakistan. This means that 94% of the British Commonwealth lives in either Asia or Africa.

Then maybe President Biden and King Charles III can engage further in geopolitics. Can they jointly appeal to the Russian Federation and Ukraine to declare a ceasefire in their conflict? A similar appeal can also be sent to Israel and Palestine to declare a truce. And devote all civilian manpower and assets of the world to fighting cancer. After all, the said disease is now reportedly one of the top three causes of death in the world. “It is elementary, Mr. Watson,” to use an oft-quoted adage that warfare increases the risks of dying prematurely among cancer patients living in war-torn countries.

Perhaps it will give a chance for the leaders engaged in warfare to agree to the idea of a ceasefire. They can be heroic allies in fighting cancer of all types and stages. The dreaded disease is one of the biggest mortal enemies of humanity.

Deaths from cancer (and complications from it) will indeed outnumber the long-run military personnel’s deaths and civilian collateral victims all over the world. Ergo, national leaders of many countries can become heroes instead of being accused of allegedly committing genocide and other wartime abuses.
