MAYOR ISKO MORENO
Francisco Moreno Domagoso (born October 24, 1974), also known by his screen name Isko Moreno or Yorme, is a Filipino politician and former actor who currently serves as the 22nd mayor of Manila since 2019.
Before becoming mayor, he served as a former three-term councilor of the city’s first congressional district from 1998 to 2007 and more recently as the vice mayor of Manila from 2007 to 2016. As an actor, Isko Moreno gained fame as a matinee idol.
Moreno started his political career when he elected and sworn as councilor for Manila’s first congressional district in 1998 and reelected in 2001 and 2004 respectively.
In 2007, he later became vice mayor of the city. He took a crash course in Local Legislation and Local Finance at the University of the Philippines. He then studied public administration in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (University of the City of Manila) while fulfilling his alderman duties.
MAYOR JOY BELMONTE
Ma. Josefina “Joy” Belmonte is currently serving as the 11th elected mayor of Quezon City since 2019. She believes that the success of the city lies in having trustworthy leadership, data and information-driven decision making, and an efficient and well-functioning government system that is worthy of the public trust.
She has introduced her 14-point agenda which focuses on human and social services, economic development, environment, and climate change, infrastructure, and institutional development.
Mayor Belmonte got her Social Sciences degree from the Ateneo de Manila University, a Masters’ Degree in Philosophy from the Institute of Archaeology, University College in London, and another Masters’ degree in Museum Studies from the Leicester University in the United Kingdom.
Mayor Joy Belmonte is the wife of Raymond Alimurung, the first Filipino CEO of Lazada Philippines. They have a son.
In 2010, she was awarded the Gawad Lingkod Masa Award by Gabriela Women’s Party due to her work on protecting and helping out distressed women.
