“Dear brothers and sisters, when I was with you, I couldn’t talk to you as I would to spiritual people. I had to talk as though you belonged to this world or as though you were infants in Christ.” 1 Corinthians 3:1
Where are we on the journey of following Jesus? Paul says there are spiritual people, sinful people, and spiritual newbies. There are always going to be all three in the church.
We are all sinful people before Christ comes into our lives. There will always be sinful people in churches. We continue to walk in the flesh because we do not have Jesus.
We can follow Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to help us grow spiritually. A spiritual person allows the Holy Spirit to lead them on the journey. A spiritual person and a religious person are two different kinds of people. Lord, help me be a spiritual person filled with the spirit.
I want to see spiritual newbies in the church! People who continue to decide between being a follower of Jesus. We need spiritual people to come alongside the spiritual newbies to lead them in their walk with Jesus!
Where are you on the journey of following Jesus? Our goal should be a spiritual person! “Be filled with His Spirit!”
