[BREAKING NEWS] NEW YORK – At a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, former President Donald Trump, 78, was taken off stage by his security detail after shots were fired at a stage where he was speaking for at least 6 to 7 minutes on a clear evening on July 13.

Trump clutched a hand to his right ear and immediately ducked for cover as secret service agents swarmed around the podium and protected the Republican candidate. He was escorted to a waiting SUV as he raised a fist to the crowd in a gesture of defiance and was taken away from the rally.

Authorities confirmed he was the target of a would-be assassin. A suspected gunman and an innocent bystander at the rally died, and two others are in serious condition.

The Secret Service and Homeland Security informed President Joe Biden of the incident. Biden condemned it in “the strongest terms possible, which is what you would anticipate. He has long condemned political violence. Everybody must condemn it. He said this is unheard of,” Kristen Welker of NBC News reports.

The Secret Service and Homeland Security informed President Joe Biden of the incident. “Look, there’s no place in America for his kind of violence. It’s sick. It’s sick. It’s one of the reasons why we have to unit this country,” Biden said in a special report by NBC News.

USA Today reports that reports also confirm that he and Trump have spoken after the president said earlier that he was trying to reach Trump.

The former president received medical treatment, reported Scripps News
