When it comes to following Jesus, it means that we are all in or we are not in at all! There is no picking and choosing where and when we follow Jesus.
An area that makes us uncomfortable is when it comes to our finances, our time, our talents, and using them for building God’s kingdom.
In Malachi 3:10, “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put Me to the test!”
I know that many will not read any further today, because we want to debate it, deny it, and disobey what God’s Word says. All I know is that I have followed this principle in my life since childhood and that God has passed the test every single time. He has been so good to me, so faithful, and has blessed me in every area of my life.
I do not have to tithe! Tithe means tenth and is 10% of my income. If we surrender to Jesus as the Lord and Savior of our lives, He gets all of us, all of our time, all of our treasures, all of our talents, because everything I have has been given to me from the Lord to be a steward for His purposes.
Today, do what God’s Word says: Try it! Put the Lord to the test! Let me tell you, God will never fail the test! He is My Provider!
(This is not to start a debate; this is just a choice that I have made for me and my family.)
God is and always will be faithful when we obey His Word in our lives!
