In 2 Peter 3, Peter encourages the followers of Jesus that Jesus is coming back one day! If you have been in a Bible-believing church, you have heard that Jesus is coming again! We sometimes forget about this truth. However, we need to be aware that this journey will one day end, and then we will be judged on what we did with the gift of salvation—Jesus.

In verses 13-15, “But we (followers of Jesus) are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world filled with God’s righteousness. And so, dear friends, while you wait for these things to happen, make every effort to be found living peaceful lives that are pure and blameless in His sight. And remember, our Lord’s patience gives people time to be saved.”

While we wait for His coming as followers of Jesus, we must realize that God is patient and is giving time for more people to be saved and become followers of Jesus.

As we begin Holy Week today, we see Jesus’s journey to the Cross, His death, and burial. But next Sunday is Easter Sunday, the day we celebrate that Jesus is alive! We need to share what Jesus has done in our lives!
