In Luke 2: 1-20, we have the account of the birth of Jesus. We see the journey that brought Jesus into this world as a baby.

It is amazing that the angels came to the shepherds in the field, that the Messiah was born. Why the shepherds? Shepherds were the lowest class of people, and God revealed the birth of His son to shepherds. No one is beyond God’s redeeming grace and mercy.

Can you imagine the shepherds out in the field, just like every other night, watching and protecting the sheep? And an angel comes to you.

“Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. THE SAVIOR yes, the Messiah, the Lord, has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David.”

How many people feel that God could never help you, forgive you or love you? The Christmas Story is a story of God’s amazing love for people. That God would send His Son into this world for me!

Today, God loves YOU! That is the story of God, not just of Christmas! John 3:16 tells us: “For God so loved the world (you) that He gave His One and Only Son that whosoever believes (receives) Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”

Today, God loves YOU!!! (and me)
