How easily can we complain, grumble, and murmur when facing life issues? Can it become a way of life?
The children of Israel show us this as an example today. In Exodus 15, they see the miracle of the Red Sea and celebrate and praise God for the victory.
But now they must move and begin their journey to the Promised Land. Moses leads them three days into the journey and has to go into the wilderness. They face a challenge and cannot find water. That is a big challenge, but how quickly they forget the miracle of the provision God provided them. But they continue on the journey and come to Marah. There is water there, but it is bitter.
What did the people do? Complain, grumble, and murmur. Exodus 15:24-25 tells us: “And te people grumbled against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?” And Moses cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a log, and he threw it into the water, and the water became sweet.”
God is still a miracle worker today. Lord, help me to pray instead of complaining when I face an issue in life.
Help us praise instead of pouting; Help me to worship instead of whine about my challenges today!
