Romans 14; deals with that we are not condemn and judge people in the world. Condemning and judging people is not our ministry or responsibility; we are to allow the Holy Spirit to convict people of sin and worldliness.
Paul says in Romans 14: 17-19; “For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. If you serve Christ with this attitude you will please God, and others will approve of you, too. So then, let us aim for harmony in church and try to build each other up.”
The Kingdom of God is different than the kingdom of man. As followers of Jesus, we are focusing on being more like Jesus, and not living like the world. We need to realize that the kingdom of God is so much bigger than what we eat or drink (because we want to please God and glorify Him in all that we do).
The Kingdom of God is living a life of goodness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. If we are filled with His Spirit on a consistent daily basis, then we will want to glorify God in every area of our lives. Am I living a life of goodness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit?
Living a life in the Holy Spirit will change every area of our life, and we will have the attitude to please God in even the small details of what I eat, where I go, how I dress, how I talk, how I relate with people, and so many other areas of life. If I have the attitude of following Jesus in all areas of my life, I will please God from the inside out, and I will also have a right relationship with people.
What should be our goal? “So then, let us aim for harmony in the church (marriage, family, work, shopping, school, gym etc.) and to build each other up.”
Are we more like a bulldozer or a crane spiritually? A bulldozer knocks things down, runs over things, destroys things, but a crane picks things up and places them somewhere higher. Which one are we more like?
Help me to bring harmony and hope to lead people to Jesus Christ today, because I am living a life of goodness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit!
