We cannot take this journey of following Jesus in our own strength, willpower, or effort. Jesus knew that we could not live a Christian life without His Holy Spirit in our lives.
In John 14: 15-17, we read – “If you love me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit who leads you into all truth. The world cannot receive Him because it isn’t looking for Him and doesn’t recognize Him. But you know Him, because He lives with you now and later will be in you.”
What does Jesus want us to know on the journey of life?
- We cannot keep God’s commandments, the Word of God, in our own strength and willpower. We will try to live for Jesus, but it is impossible to live a spiritual life without the Holy Spirit! But that does not change the Word of God that says, “If you love Me, obey My Commands.”
- Jesus says I will ask the Father to send you the Advocate, the One who will defend You. The Holy Spirit, who will fill you, empower you, encourage you, and who will lead you into all truth! Jesus provided the Holy Spirit with our help to live for Him in this world today.
- The world, the sinner, and the religious person cannot receive the Spirit because we are trying to live life our way! If we surrender our life to Jesus, then the Holy Spirit comes to be with us and in us!
- The Holy Spirit comes to live in the followers of Jesus! When the Holy Spirit moves in, you will know and experience His presence, peace, provision, and power in your daily lives!
Today, I give all of me to His presence in my life! When you give Him your life, allow Him to take control of every area of your life!
The old song says: “Holy Spirit You are welcome here!” You are welcome in my life today!
