As we have just come through Holy Week, the time when Christians remember the journey that Jesus took to the Cross and then to the empty tomb. One of the events we see during that week is Jesus going into the Temple.
In Luke 19: 45-46: “Then Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out the people selling animals for sacrifices. He said to them,’My Temple will be a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves.”
How does this apply to my journey of following Jesus? Today if we are a follower of Jesus, then we are the temples of the Holy Spirit. His Spirit lives in us! Think about that today.
Jesus said, “My house will be a house of prayer.” If the Holy Spirit is living in us, we must be connected to Him, communicate with Him, and be close to Him! This refers to a relationship!
Being a follower of Jesus begins by learning to be with Jesus! Prayer is not what words we say to God, but just learning to worship and be with Him!
Lord, help me to be a house of prayer!
