I am thankful God is doing good work for me and my family today

As we begin the Letter to the Philippians church (and to us today as followers of Jesus), we need to remind ourselves that Paul writes this from prison. Paul writes to other followers of Jesus out of experience and not out of book knowledge.

Paul opens this Letter and speaks a word of encouragement, hope, and victory for every follower of Jesus.

“And I am certain that God, who began a good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”

God is continually doing good work in us, even when we do not see, feel, or even understand it.

We want God to give us good results right now. We are currently more interested in comfort than conformity to Christ’s character.

When does God’s good work finish? When Jesus returns, or we take our last breath. We must learn to trust and obey the Lord, who works in our lives, no matter what we face.

I am thankful God is doing good work for me and my family today!
