What is coming for our nation and world? What are we looking forward to happen? In the last chapter of the Bible, Revelation 22, we see these words over and over:
Revelation 22:7 – “Look, I am coming soon! Blessed are those who obey the words of the prophecy written in this Book.”
Revelation 22: 12-13 – “Look, I am coming soon, bringing My reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds. I am the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”
Revelation 22: 20 – “He who is the faith witness to all these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.”
The hope that every follower lives by and looks forward to is that Jesus is coming again. One day, Jesus is returning, just like He came the first time. How can we trust the Bible? How can we believe something like Jesus is coming back and have not seen it yet?
Why do I follow Jesus? There are many reasons that I can think of in my life. He saved me from my sins; He provided everything I needed in life; He gave me a purpose and plan for my life since I was a teenager; He blessed me with my wife and family. He has comforted me in the death of my daughter; He has healed my wife from almost dying. He has given me hope and many more wonderful blessings when I was hopeless.
But another reason I follow Jesus is because one day He is coming back, or one day I will take my last breath here on earth, and I will stand before the Lord! I would rather be right one day early rather than one day late.
I want to be prepared and ready for the day that I will stand before Jesus!
The Lord reminds us that “He is coming back.” As a follower of Jesus, I can say, Revelation 22: 20-21, “Amen! Come, Lord Jesus! May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s holy people.”
Today, if you ask Jesus to come into your life, you will be ready for when He comes, or we will meet Him! I am thankful that I am prepared because of Jesus!
