Do we really believe and know the power of the Cross in our lives! The power of the Cross does not only deal with my past, but my present and my future! But for many the Cross that Jesus died on does not make sense to people! Why would you put your faith and trust in what Jesus did on the Cross?
Paul wrote to the church of Corinth and said: “The message of the Cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.”
The message will not change. The message of God’s love and that He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to everlasting life. The message of God sending His One and only son to die on the Cross. John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” That the love of Jesus was that He went to the Cross, He died, buried and rose again on the third day, went back to the Father and sent the Gift of the Holy Spirit, and is coming back again!
That is the Gospel and that is the power of God, that His Son took my place on the Cross, and because of that gift, I now have eternal life for my future, and abundant life as long as I live!
But we all have a choice, and for many they may think that Jesus and the Gospel is foolish. It makes no sense, I do not need Jesus! I do not need God!
That is why God has made us with a will, and we have choices to make in life. But we also must remember: “That our choices have consequences!”
I am thankful that I chose to follow Jesus! I chose to give my life to the One that gave His life for me!
