I am thankful that the Lord is my Way Maker, and Promise Keeper!

In Psalm 146:6-9, we see those who need to know the Way Maker and the Promise Keeper.

“…He keeps every promise forever. He (God) gives justice to the oppressed and food to the hungry. The Lord frees the prisoners. The Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are weighed down. The Lord loves the godly. The Lord protects the foreigners among us. He cares for the orphans and widows, but He frustrates the plans of the wicked.”

The Lord is our Provider because He is our Promise Keeper! There are things in this world that are wicked, sinful, and evil. We see the results of sin in our lives, homes, church, city, and nation. Because people are people, but God is God!

  • The Lord keeps every promise! How many of us keep our promises?
  • The Lord provides for those in need. He frees the prisoners. We may not be in a literal prison, but so many people are. They are locked up in their hearts, minds, and spirits. Jesus came to free the prisoners from their prisons.
  • The Lord opens blind eyes. The Lord is our healer! “He sent His Word and healed us of all our diseases.”
  • The Lord lifts those who are discouraged, depressed and do not see a way of hope.
  • The Lord protects the foreigners among us. The Lord cares for people, and as followers of Jesus, we need to care for the people God brings into our lives. We are the only Jesus that people are going to see.
  • The Lord cares for the forgotten, orphans, and widows. People who are alone no longer feel they belong. We must care for people with the love of Jesus!

But the Lord also frustrates the plans of the wicked. Who are the wicked? The ones who do not follow Jesus and LOVE GOD AND LOVE PEOPLE!

I am thankful that the Lord is MY WAY-MAKER AND PROMISE KEEPER! What great assurance that is, but now we must lead people to know that Jesus is their WAY-MAKER and PROMISE KEEPER!
