During this Easter season, it is more than the eggs, candy, baskets, and new clothes, the beginning of spring. This is the season to remember the journey that Jesus took for us. Jesus journeyed from heaven to earth with a purpose for every purpose. Jesus journeyed to the Cross and an empty tomb to fulfill God’s will or purpose!
We find His priority or purpose for the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus in Luke 19:10 – “For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.”
Jesus came to seek (to look for, to search out, to go after, to find) people that realize they are lost. Jesus is looking for people that are seeking Him. Salvation began with God because we do not even realize that we must be found, saved, and born again. But the Holy Spirit is seeking people who realize that they have sinned and need a Savior.
Jesus came to save us from our sins! God’s Word tells us, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Then it tells us, “That the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus.”
Jesus took a journey for us, and He came to seek and save us from our sins. Today, we must respond and go to Him, confess our sins, and ask Jesus to come into our lives!
That is the purpose of the death and resurrection of Jesus! He wants to have a relationship with you and me today! Salvation is the greatest miracle that can happen in our lives! That is why we can rejoice today because I was lost, but now I am found!
Thank You, Jesus, for saving ME!
