David teaches us that following Jesus will involve many battles and enemies. Following Jesus is not for the faint of heart! We need to know that we have a real enemy who will attack us physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and relationally. Are we ready for the next battle?
Psalm 27:6; “And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me, and I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy, I will sing and make melody to the Lord.”
We win the battles of our lives, realizing that the Lord is with us in the heat of the battle. We know that the battle is not ours but God’s. Those are easy words, but what does this look like in real life?
David says, “I will…” I make the choice to do so at the beginning, middle, and end of the battle.
I will offer sacrifices in His house with joy and praise the Lord despite the battles I am facing in my life.
I will sing and make a melody to the Lord. I will worship the Lord more than I will focus on the enemies and the battles of life.
I will focus on the size of my God and not the size of the enemy! “Because the battle is not mine, but the Lord’s.”
