Jesus came to seek and to save those who are lost!

In Acts 8, we see the persecution of Jesus’ followers! The leader of the persecution was Saul (who would become Paul).

Saul was a religious zealot who saw Jesus taking people away from the Jewish religion.

Acts 8:1 – Saul approves of the execution of Stephen.

Acts 8:3 – “But Saul was ravaging the church, and entering house after house, he dragged off men and women and committed them to prison.”

How would you respond if you were a follower of Jesus during that time? There was a real persecution going on against followers of Jesus.

Why would God allow this to go on? Does Romans 8:28 really work in times of trials and even persecution? “And we know that in all situations, God works together for the good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.”

What was God’s purpose in allowing this persecution to happen?

Acts 8:4; “Now those who were scattered went about preaching the Word!”

All the followers of Jesus were in Jerusalem, but when persecution began, they left for different villages and cities. They were missionaries bringing the Gospel to people who needed Jesus!”

God allows us to go through things so that we can bring Jesus to other people! Why? “Because Jesus came to seek and to save those who are lost!”

Who can we share the Gospel with today?
