What does Jesus think about all that is going on in our world today? What is His concern for people?
Matthew 9: 36-38; “When He saw the crowds, He had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. He said to His disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask Him to send more workers into His fields.”
* Jesus sees the CROWDS! He looks at the condition of people and considers the lostness of mankind. He sees the needs of people! He sees the brokenness, pain, and the hurt of man and knows that He is the only answer!
* Jesus has COMPASSION for people! He looks at the condition of the crowds and has compassion for their needs. Jesus is for all people, lost people, sinful people, hurting people. Jesus is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to everlasting life. Jesus invites people to come to Him, just as they are right now.
* Jesus realizes that people are CONFUSED and HELPLESS! People are so confused today and do not know what to do. People are helpless and cannot solve the issues in their lives, marriages, and families in our culture. That is why we need Jesus, who will help us in life! “He is my refuge and strength, a very present help in the times of confusion and helplessness!
* Jesus is CALLING His followers to get into the harvest and reach people by working for the Kingdom of God!
Today, if you need Jesus, He is here for you, and we need to invite Him into our lives. If we know Jesus, then we need to get to work in His harvest field! Because He is the only hope and help for people today!
