What brings joy to the Lord? What gives the Lord pleasure? We could try to answer this in a thousand different ways.
Psalm 147: 10-11: “God takes no pleasure in the strength of a horse or in human might. NO, the Lord’s delight is in those who fear Him, those who put their hope in His unfailing love.”
- The Lord is not impressed with our strength, talents, gifting, abilities, works, or man-made programs. These do not bring joy to the Lord, but we may get some joy from what we can do.
- The Lord is impressed with people who fear, awe, worship, and love Him totally and completely! The Lord delights when we give Him His rightful place in our lives. The Lord loves it when we worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. The Lord takes pleasure when we love Him with all of our hearts, souls, minds, and strength.
- The Lord is impressed with people who put their hope in His unfailing love! When we put our hope in His unfailing love, it changes our relationship with Him! Knowing that God loves me changes how I relate to the Lord! How many remember that old song: “Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so!”
Jesus loves you today! When I respond to Him with love, it changes everything!
Lord, I want to bring pleasure to you today!
