Jesus, my Tower and Resource for everything I need in life

When you go on a journey and are flying, the plane only takes off once it connects and gets directions from the Tower. In our spiritual journey, we can only move forward once we connect with the Tower (Jesus) and get our instructions.

Hebrews 4: 14-16 tells us: “So then, since we have a great high priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This high priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for He faced the same testings we do, yet He did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.”

  • We must believe that Jesus is our only Source for living in this world. Many people want God to be a Resource (provide for us), but Jesus is more than a Resource; He is the Source of everything we need in life. If we really believe this, it will change our behavior. Our beliefs determine how we behave and live.
  • We need to know that we have weaknesses and struggles and deal with sin, but Jesus understands weakness and invites us to come to Him. But He also gives us the power to say no to temptation and sin.
  • We can come boldly and confidently to our gracious God. When we go to Him, we will receive mercy, and we will find grace to HELP us when we need it most.

Why would we not spend time with God and connect with our High Tower when He invites us to come to the Source and then find the Resource for everything we need in life?

I can spend time with Jesus today! Will I connect with the Tower before taking off today?
