In John 14: Jesus tells the disciples that He will go to heaven to prepare a place for His followers. In John 14:4, Jesus says, “And you know the way to where I am going.”
I love the honesty of Thomas in John 14:5; “No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said, We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way.” Jesus talks about the way, and Thomas says, we do not know the way.
How many of us have been on a journey, traveling, and you do not know which way to go? So you get lost, have to stop and ask for directions, and have to guess where you are going because you do not know which way to go.
Jesus replies to Thomas and us today; “Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” Jesus was declaring that on this spiritual journey, we need to know:
THE WAY – Jesus is the Way! And we need to follow Jesus to stay on the right path to travel through life. Jesus is the Way to God the Father! Jesus is the way to salvation! Jesus is the Way to Heaven! He is The Way! Jesus is not one of many ways to God; He is the only way!
THE TRUTH – Truth is truth, and Jesus is the Truth! If you want the way, truth, and life, you must know God’s Word!
Am I spending time getting to know JESUS THE TRUTH? God’s Word is truth; if you want to know the way, you need to know the truth! If you want to know the truth, you need to get into the truth!
THE LIFE – Jesus is life! Life is not just what we do here on earth; Jesus gives us eternal life! Death does not end at the grave! Life is eternal, and we receive life when we receive Jesus!
Jesus said, “I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly.” Today, Jesus promises us real life!
Today, If you want to know the Way, the Truth, and the Life, you need to accept and begin following Jesus!
Lord, help me realize that you are the Way, the Truth, and the Life no matter where I am on life’s journey!
