In 2 Timothy 3: 3-5, Paul continues instructing Timothy and the church about more dangers that will happen in the last days. When we read these verses, see if we can see that this is happening today.

“They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that.”

Do we see this happening today? Do we see it in our culture and our country today? Do we see this even in the church? But we need to ask ourselves: “Do we see any of these dangers in our own lives?

Revival starts individually as we look inward and see what the real condition of our own heart is like. We need to start this new year by looking at and evaluating our own lives. Our prayer should be “Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me.

Am I unloving or unforgiving?
Am I slandering others?
Am I out of control in any area of my life?
Am I cruel?
Do I hate what is good?
Am I betraying the people that I am closest to?
Am I reckless?
Am I full of pride?
Do I love pleasure more than I love God?
Do I act religiously but deny the power of the Spirit that makes me godly?

Lord, forgive me for allowing these dangers of living in the last days of my life! Please help me to walk forward in 2024!
