Lord, fill me with the Holy Spirit today!

Jesus told over 500 people to stay in Jerusalem and wait for the gift of the Holy Spirit. We see that 120 followers of Jesus obeyed on the Day of Pentecost.

We read in Acts 2:1-4;

• They were all together in one place. There was unity, and as they were waiting on the Lord. We need to come together and learn to wait on the Lord!

• The presence of the Lord is able to minister when we wait for Him with expectation. We must prepare ourselves for the presence of the Lord.

• What was the result? The gift that Jesus promised – the gift of the Holy Spirit!

Acts 2:4; “All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different languages, as the Spirit enabled them.”

Why do we need to be filled with the Holy Spirit?

• To edify, encourage ourselves in the Lord! If you are running on empty in your spiritual life, begin to wait on the Lord. “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.”

• To evangelize other people. The Holy Spirit gives me what I need to share my story with people who need Jesus!

• To equip and empower me to follow Jesus today!

When I go to the store, I see electric cars charging, and people are just sitting there waiting to charge theirs. How many of us need to wait and ask the Lord to fill me, charge me up with the Holy Spirit?

Lord, fill me with the Holy Spirit today!
