Lord, help me be a praiser and not a pouter, speak words of faith and not fear, listen to You, and obey You in my life

In Numbers 14, we see the response to the report of the 12 spies. The majority gave a negative report and said that we could not go in and take the land. The enemy is strong, the enemy is everywhere, and we are just like grasshoppers to them. Joshua and Caleb were the only two who reported that, with God leading us, we could go in and take the land.

So what did the people do? Numbers 1:1-3; “Then the whole community began weeping aloud, and they cried all night. Their voices rose in a great chorus of protest against Moses and Aaron. “If only we had died in Egypt or even here in the wilderness!” they complained. Why is the Lord taking us to this country only to have us die in battle? Our wives and our little ones will be carried off as plunder! Wouldn’t it be better for us to return to Egypt?”

We see the importance of who we listen to and get wisdom from. If we listen to the negative complainers around us, we will never step out in faith and obey the Lord. If we listen to culture or social media and not to God and His Word, we will never walk by faith and obtain all that God has for us!

Lord, help me be a praiser and not a pouter, speak words of faith and not fear, listen to You, and obey You in my life!

Lord, help me to encourage others to obey the Lord and realize that if “God is for us, who can be against us?” As Christians, let us be people of faith and not doubt because it will impact our family and friends.
