How many want to know the secret to enjoy life?
Peter gives us a Biblical answer in 1 Peter 3: 10-11;
If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies. Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it.”
If we want to enjoy life’s journey, we need to focus on our relationships with the Lord, our spouse, our family, and our friends.
The focus must be on changing us, not on changing others. Our prayer should be about changing how we respond in our relationships.
- We must watch the words we speak and post. Stop speaking evil and telling lies. No one can tame the tongue in our own strength; that is why we need to be filled with the Holy Spirit. How many of our struggles come from our tongues?
- Stop evil and do good in your marriage, family, and relationships. What am I sowing in my relationship? Because what I am sowing is what I am going to reap.
- Search for peace and work for it. That means I have a responsibility to work for peace in my relationships. Am I looking for and working towards peace? Am I a troublemaker or a peacemaker?
Lord, help me do my part to enjoy life and see happy days.
