If you want to move forward in your spiritual journey, you will need to grow up. As followers of Jesus, we need to grow up, as well.
Hebrews 5:12-14 clearly states: “You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things about God’s Word. You are like babies who need milk and cannot eat solid food. For someone who lives on milk is still an infant and doesn’t know how to do what is right. Solid food is for those who are mature, who through training have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong.”
Remember when you were small or had small children, and you were going on a walk to the park, Disney World, or the beach? They would walk for a bit, and then they would start complaining. As a parent, would you pick them up and carry them?
How many of us start following Jesus, but then we start complaining, sitting down, and just like the small child cannot keep walking?
As a baby can only digest milk and not solid food. How many followers of Jesus are still on the bottle and not on solid food?
If we have been following Jesus but cannot move forward from the spiritual bottle, we need to grow up!
If we are going to finish this spiritual journey, we need to grow up and mature spiritually.
Lord, help me grow in You and my spiritual journey!
