Are we spiritually drifting or shifting? Are we living naturally or supernaturally? What difference does the Holy Spirit make in our daily lives?
2 Corinthians 3: 17- 18: “For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord who is the Spirit makes us more like Him as we are changed into His glorious image.”
We see that the need to shift is the work of the Holy Spirit. We need the Holy Spirit in our daily lives. We cannot live in the supernatural without the Holy Spirit. We need the Presence, Power, and Provision that only the Holy Spirit can bring into our daily lives.
“Wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” If the Holy Spirit is living in us, then we have freedom! Freedom from anything that is not of God. We have freedom from sin – past, present, and future. We have freedom from self – walking in the flesh. We have freedom from a spirit of sadness – because in His presence there is fullness of joy. (We will go through sad things, but His presence will help us through those difficult seasons). If the Holy Spirit is released in us, we have freedom.
If the Holy Spirit is living in us, then we should be in the process of becoming more like Jesus! That means we should shift, not drift, spiritually! That means we should continually shift in our spiritual life to be more like Jesus each day. That should be our prayer: “To be like Jesus, to be like Jesus, all I ask is to be like Jesus.” Are we praying that for our personal lives?
Lord, help me not to drift, but help me to shift to be more like You!
