Life’s journey constantly changes; the longer we live, the more quickly it changes. Just look back over your life and examine all that has changed and how quickly things are changing today.
Look at technology and, over the years, how quickly things have changed. I grew up when there was no such thing as an iPhone. The only phone was the phone in your home, with a long cord that gave you a little privacy from all of my family. Today, we carry the world in our phones. Our phones now take everything we do in life. Social media has changed how we communicate, converse, and keep up with family and friends. This change has connected us more and, in other ways, less. But change is happening all the time.
How many of us are not even able to keep up with all of the changes that are happening in our relationships, culture, and world? We feel out of place when we look at everything changing around us.
But I love this verse in Hebrews 13:8; “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.”
What a small, powerful verse that reminds us that with everything changing around us – “Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
Lord, help me to remember that You are the only consistent and unchanging thing in my life! What great assurance that brings to me in all the seasons of my life journey.
