In the story of David and Goliath, we see David’s faith and faithfulness. We need both characteristics in our spiritual lives.
God is faithful to us, and we must be faithful to God in all seasons of our lives.
Faithfulness develops a greater faith in God. David was faithful to God daily, which developed his faith to face Goliath.
1 Samuel 17:45-46: “David said to the giant; “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day, the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I will strike you down and cut off your head. This very day, I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel.”
The quality of my faithfulness to God will determine the quality of my faith in the battles of life. I do not need more faith, but I need better faith.
Lord, help me to have faithfulness and faith as spiritual disciplines in my daily life!
