Joseph experienced God’s blessing and favor over his life, even in the rejection and pain of being sold as a slave, thrown in jail, and his family relationship. However, Joseph did not become a victim of his circumstances; he had a Biblical view that God was in control of every situation.
In Genesis 50 – Joseph’s brothers are still scheming and trying to manipulate the situation. How does Joseph respond?
Verse 19-20; “But Joseph replied, “Do not be afraid of me. Am I God that I can punish you? YOU INTENDED TO HARM ME, BUT GOD INTENDED IT FOR GOOD. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people. No, don’t be afraid. I will continue to take care of you and your children. So he reassured them by speaking kindly to them.”
What faith and trust in God! God intended everything that I have gone through for my good. We need to know God works in our lives if we respond Biblically. What is the difference between being a victim or a victor? How we respond to life’s situations is key.
Lord, help me respond like Joseph in all the seasons of life I will face. Help me trust and obey the Lord no matter what happens around me!
