Lord, help me stay connected to You so I can receive the strength I need to live in victory today!

by Ron Squibb

Jesus teaches us to pray when we face temptation, trials, and tests in life.

Jesus knew that the Cross was ahead of Him. So he takes some of the disciples to pray with Him. Jesus tells the disciples in Luke 22:40, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.” Jesus goes by Himself to pray, and in verse 42, Jesus prays: “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” We read that God strengthened Jesus.

When Jesus was done praying, he found them asleep. Jesus tells them again in verse 46, “Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.”

If you are facing temptation, tests, and trials, prayer is still the answer to victory. We must be connected to Jesus so that He can strengthen us in the difficult seasons of life!

Lord, help me stay connected to You so I can receive the strength I need to live in victory today!
