Knowledge is information, but wisdom is the application of knowledge. We need more than information about being a follower of Christ; we need transformation that changes the way that we live.
In Romans 12:9-21, we see the signs, marks, and characteristics of being a follower of Christ! In verse 13; we see that a follower of Jesus – “Contributes to the needs of Christians and seeks to show hospitality.”
As followers of Jesus, we will be generous with our time, tithes, and talents for the Kingdom of God. Why do we give, serve, and love people, because of God’s generous blessings in my life. God blesses us because we are faithful in little.
Someone made this statement. “God will get it to us, if He can get it through us!” A mark of a follower of Jesus is that we give to the Lord and to people.
A follower of Jesus will show hospitality. This shows us that God wants us to be connected to a church family and not serve Him in isolation. God wants us to be a part of the body. Hospitality is our heart for people: loving, serving, and being open with them.
Today, are we a generous and hospitable follower of Jesus? Lord, help me to allow the Holy Spirit to develop these characteristics in my life on a continual basis!
