As followers of Jesus, we choose to follow Him as the Light of the World. If we walk in His Light, we can no longer walk in the darkness of sin. If we follow Him, we can only walk in one direction.
In 1 John 1:5- 6, we read, “This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is LIGHT, and there is no DARKNESS in him at all. So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.”
If we know Jesus, know the Word of God, and are filled with the Holy Spirit, we walk in the light. What happens to the darkness when you enter a room and turn on a light? The light comes on, and the darkness has to leave.
When Jesus, the Light of the World, comes into our lives, the darkness has to go. Just like the Light must be turned on for the darkness to leave a room. We need to stay spiritually close to the Light of the World.
Lord, help me to allow Your Light to shine in my life today!
