We live in a culture where people want their rights, choices, and freedom to do what they want to do with their lives. But as followers of Jesus, we need to realize that we live to please God and to please others. This is why we need to be filled with the Holy Spirit, because we cannot please God or other people if we are not connected to the Spirit!
Romans 15: 1-2; “We who are strong must be considerate of those who are sensitive about things like this. We must not just please ourselves. We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord.”
We, who are strong spiritually, realize that it is not about our opinions, but that we are to help people who are new believers grow strong. Our desire should be to influence and impact others to be followers of Jesus.
The older I get, the more I realize that the only thing that matters is what we are leaving our families and people that will last for eternity. Material things will come and go! Money will come and go! But are we helping anyone to grow and develop in their spiritual life?
Our purpose should be to help others spiritually, and to build them up in the Lord! Pray today that the Lord will give you the desire and the people to help and to build up spiritually!
Lord, help me to be the “Salt of the earth, and the light of the world.” Lord, help me to impact someone today for Jesus!
