In Daniel 6, we read about the account of Daniel and being thrown into the Lion’s Den. This is probably one of the more common stories we may have heard from the Bible as children.
But what is the reason for this account of Daniel? We read in Daniel 6that the king loved Daniel because he proved himself more capable than all the other officials in the kingdom. Daniel, as a man of God, was a man who worked diligently! He proved himself to be faithful!
This made the other workers and leaders jealous, and they began to look for some fault in Daniel’s life. In verse 4, they could not find anything to criticize or condemn Daniel. He was faithful, always responsible, and completely trustworthy. In verse 5, we read, “So they concluded, ‘Our only chance of finding grounds for accusing Daniel will be in connection with the rules of his religion.”
Ministry is not only when we attend church, but it also starts at home and extends to our workplace. By the way we live and present ourselves, even in a secular workplace. Do people see us as capable? They cannot find anything to criticize or condemn us at work? Do they know that we have a work ethic and work diligently? Do they see that we are faithful? Do they see that we are responsible? Do they see that we are trustworthy?
Then they said we will need to see if we can catch up in his spiritual life. Was there any way we could catch him there? But there was none?
What a testimony! I pray that my life will be a testimony to God’s goodness. I pray that my life will bring glory to God not only in church, but in my home, my workplace, and even in the gym, store, or wherever I am!
Lord, help me to bring glory to You in every area of my life!
