Lord, help me to continue praying over the people that You bring into my life!

In Daniel 9, we see Daniel’s prayer for his people. He was praying for his people to return to the Lord. We cannot change anyone, but we can pray for God to work in their lives.

Daniel prays: “But the Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though have rebelled against Him. We have not obeyed the Lord our God, for we have not followed the instructions He gave us through His servants the prophets. All Israel has disobeyed Your instruction and turned away, refusing to listen to your voice.”

When we pray:

• We need to remember the Lord is merciful and forgiving, even when we sin, rebel, and disobey God. God is the God of another opportunity and never writes anyone off. We must remember that God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to everlasting life.
• We must acknowledge that there are areas in our lives where we have not obeyed the Lord and have not followed the Word He has given us. We must get honest about our spiritual condition and pray for the Lord to reveal to us those areas that we need to surrender and submit to Him.
• We need to learn to recognize His voice as He speaks to us! God is always speaking, but do we know His voice and follow Him? God’s Word tells us: “My sheep know My voice and follow Me.” If we know His voice, then we need to follow Him, obey Him, and do what He tells us to do!
• We need to pray for others that they will become followers of Jesus! Prayer is powerful and can change the destiny of our families and friends.

Lord, help me to continue praying over the people You bring into my life.
