In Romans 12:9-21, we see the marks or characteristics that the Holy Spirit empowers and enables us to practice spiritual disciplines in our daily lives. These qualities are something that we must develop in our spiritual life.
Romans 12:12; “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”
- Hope is fuel to our daily life. Without hope we give up, throw in the towel, and lose our faith! Our hope must be in Christ and the Word of God. We must learn to rejoice in hope that Jesus is our living hope!
- Be patient in tribulation, trials, and tests that will come at us in life! We can only learn patience by going through trials in life. When we have hope in Jesus, we are then able to be patient in the trials because we know that God was faithful, is faithful, and always will be faithful!
- Be constant in prayer! Prayer is what connects us to the Holy Spirit! We need His Presence, His Power, His Peace, and His Provision in our daily life.
Lord, help me to develop these characteristics in my life today!
