Lord, help me to focus on You today!

What are we focusing on in our daily lives? Do we spend time focusing on God or on our pains, problems, and people?

In Psalm 8, David declares: “Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory in the heavens. Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human being that you care for them?”

David’s Psalm 8 teaches us a valuable lesson. We can focus on the Lord and His Word or on ourselves. What will happen if we only focus on ourselves? We will worry, fret, be anxious, and stress out about life, people, and problems!

But what will happen if we praise, worship, and focus on God’s Majesty? We must focus on Him today and not on everything else that is going on in and around our lives!

Instead of trying to discover who you are, begin by discovering how great our God is!

Lord, help me to focus on You today!
