How many of us need more faith? How many want to know how to increase our faith? It was the same question that the disciples asked Jesus, in Luke 17: 5-6; “The apostles said to the Lord, ‘Show us how to increase our faith.” The Lord answered, “If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘May you be uprooted and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.”

Jesus uses the illustration of the smallest seed, a mustard seed. But a little seed produces a large harvest. We are asking God to show us how to increase our faith, and we do not need a bigger faith; we need a better faith.

We want God to increase our faith for what reason? Why do we want more faith? So that we can see more signs, wonders, and miracles? Or do we want a better faith? It is not the quantity of our faith but the quality of our faith that matters.

How can we get a better faith? By knowing Jesus better! By knowing His Word better! By partnering with the Holy Spirit daily! By spending more time in prayer with the Lord! By doing His will daily! By being consistent in serving Him and His Purpose for my life!

Lord, increase the quality of my faith! We do not need more information, but we need transformation when it comes to growing in our Biblical faith!

Lord, help me to grow my faith in You today! “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him.”
